Job Description
This is a temporary, project based role that will end on November 15, 2024.
Location: Santa Fe, NM
Compensation: This is an exempt position. Compensation for this role is $56,822.00 to $70,440 and will vary depending on location and experience.
Deadline for submitting an application for this position is May 3, 2024. Meow Wolf reserves the right to extend this deadline if needed.
We are searching for an editing wizard, animator, compositor, and motion graphics artist as well as a creative problem-solver with experience in all phases of post-production through design, edit, and delivery. Experience with 2D/3D animation is a plus. We know you’re out there!
The Video Editor will work closely with multiple departments and production teams throughout Meow Wolf to schedule and meet in-house project milestones. The Video Editor must utilize and maintain a pipeline that can support immediate and future needs. They will be responsible for seeing projects from start to finish.
How You Will Do It…
- Collaborate with Producers and Creative Directors to satisfy post-production needs for Meow Wolf projects.
- Assist in maintaining MW’s post-production facilities
- Creative editorial, visual effects compositing, motion graphics and animation of media content as required using a variety of industry-standard tools, including Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Davinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, Audition, Pro Tools, Character Animator, Media Encoder, Nuke and After Effects
- Support established post-production workflow and pipeline guidelines to edit and deliver final content in required formats
- Edit and deliver all content on time and on budget under the direction of the Producer and the Creative Directors
- Ensure technical quality of end product
- Collaborate with Assistant Video Editor on media management, content security, and deliverables organization.
- Collaborate with other team members to maintain a vibrant and cohesive production process and environment
- Consult on post production and media software and equipment needs
- Perform additional duties as directed or required
To be successful in this role…
- Must have proficiency in all phases of post-production and editing with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience
- Must have minimum of 2 years experience working in compositing, animation and motion graphics
- Thorough working knowledge of VFX, 2D compositing software, and related pipeline workflows
- Background in both commercial and artistic forms of editing, animation, motion graphics
- A thorough knowledge of cinematic language and narrative structure
- Self-motivated, self-managing, and patient with yourself and others
- Must be receptive to creative direction and perform well within a team environment
- Experience being part of a team of interdisciplinary people
- Must be able to adhere to tight schedules with minimal supervision and work well under pressure
- Able to manage multiple tasks and make solution-driven decisions in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a sense of humor
- Adaptable to changing needs and possess the ability to take on new tasks
- Ability to handle sensitive tasks accurately and confidentially
- Live action production experience
- Audio post production experience

- 3D animation and integration skills
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- This position is based in Santa Fe, NM and a company laptop will be provided.
- This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
- Travel is not required for this position.
- The position will require work in an office space, filming production studio and interior an/or exterior filming locations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and scanners. The position will have the option to work remotely for part of the employment term.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
