Video Editor

Overview

The Video Editor will oversee all post production work for Creative Team. You will be tasked with stitching together video clips to tell a story, manage our post production workflow, distribute final projects to our stakeholders, and organize our media library. Your work will stand out at a level unmatched in our industry. You will be busy editing fresh content for all types of distribution: social, brand, paid media and internal videos.

Responsibilities

  • Edit raw video footage to create compelling and engaging video content for various platforms, including social media, websites, and marketing campaigns
  • Develop creative concepts, layouts, and visual assets that align with brand guidelines and effectively communicate the desired message
  • Organize DAM: proper names, tags and organization of media assets to Brandfolder
  • Marketing Drive Librarian: receive, name and archive working design files
  • Understand the core customer audience at Safariland and provide edits that are impactful to our core customer
  • Collaborate with our Creative Team to develop video concepts and storyboards
  • Ensure all edits are aesthetically pleasing, on-brand, and optimized for different platforms and devices
  • Work with stakeholders for edit reviews
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in editing to continuously improve design skills and techniques
  • Produce specific paid social advertisements for our paid social categories and update as needed; working with eComm and Paid Social team
  • Keep up with the latest trends of creative and technology
  • Other content projects, revisions, as requested by the Creative Director
  • Stay extremely organized while balancing multiple projects
  • Clear understanding of operations and project management with the ability to work on multiple projections and project teams at a time
  • Ability to partner creatively with our business units
  • Ability to work as a “one-man-band” or fit within a role as a team
  • Ability to absorb creative direction while bringing unique ideas to the table

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years full time editing experience. Commercial, Advertising or Post House experience a plus
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of video editing projects. Short form and long form duco-style brand films.
  • We are entirely RED based, must know how to process and work efficiently with R3D
  • Must be proficient in Adobe After Effects.
  • Ability to Color Grade a project from raw format to final deliverable / Understanding of color science, color workflow
  • Expertise in sound design, mixing and mastering
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Adapts to a changing work environment while meeting company and marketing team milestones
  • Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and composition
  • Excellent communicator, written and verbal
  • A portfolio is required to be considered for this opportunity
