What You’re Applying For
The Video Editor will play a crucial role in the growth of Edmunds’ video team. You will work alongside the Manager, Post Production, shooting directors, producers and the rest of the forty-strong Edmunds’ editorial team to create industry-leading content for our channels, our partner CarMax and sponsored content. You will also ensure that content is compelling and relevant to a target audience, as well as aligned with brand style guides and best practices.
The Video Editor will be responsible for taking the raw footage captured in the field and creating multiple pieces of video content that will live on YouTube, and various social media channels on a regular basis. This role will work both independently and collaboratively with various members of the Edmunds content team including writers and photographers.
What You’ll Do
- Work with producers to edit raw footage to create dynamic and compelling automotive video content.
- Work with producers and our social media team to create engaging social video content.
- Color correct, sound mix and create high-resolution exports for the web and other platforms.
- Work alongside producers to develop and implement new video editing and graphic styles and new formats for our video content.
- Troubleshoot technical issues that arise, as needed.
- Meet regularly with the production team as a representative of the post process and offer feedback on footage received from the field.
- Collaborate with video team members in the creative planning, scripting, and preproduction of upcoming projects.
- Make the full scope of creative and editorial decisions in collaboration with key stakeholders for assigned content.
- Drive projects through the post-production process to produce quality video content.
What You Need
- 5 Years of experience working as an editor in digital, doc, advertising, or TV.
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere.
- Proficient in Adobe Media Encoder.
- Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
- Very strong storytelling skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced atmosphere.
- An eye for detail, pacing, and continuity.
- Ability to take notes from multiple sources and implement them in your edit.
- Self starter and a strong collaborator.
- Ability to work cross-functionally across the organization.
- Ability and willingness to mentor and lead junior staff members.
The compensation range for this position is $76,200 – $132,905 per year. The base pay will take into account internal equity as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
