Description

The Senior Video Editor must have an expert understanding of modern editing techniques. This role requires the ability to manipulate raw video footage, audio, graphics, stills, and animation effects to artfully create a high-quality finished project.

 

In addition to editing, the Senior Editor will have additional roles and responsibilities  including coordinating post-production workflow of all video projects in edit and the providing of additional guidance as needed to video producers and editor to meet the project’s desired final vision and deadlines. The Senior Video Editor will have one direct report.

TASKS

  •  Work closely with Sr. Video Content Producer to schedule and make sure that all post-production jobs stay on track and are delivered on time
  • Oversee and Review edits from other editors and give technical/creative feedback to further improve content. This includes editing choices, graphics, titles, and color grading
  • Work with Sr. Video Content Producer and video editors to develop internal editorial processes to streamline production
  • Leads and or performs video post-production tasks which include tape logging, backing up of files, transcoding footage, reviewing footage, making editorial decisions along with content producer and or Director of Content, assembly cuts, rough cuts, audio adjustments with the audio engineer, color correction, graphics, and final editing & layoff using Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and other industry standard software; creates or works with motion graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with the overall video concepts; compresses video for output
  • Responsible for assembling video footage, applying artistic editing techniques, and creating finished projects that adhere to the director’s/producer’s vision
  • Review edits and work with designated Content Producer or Director of Content to implement and incorporate feedback and notes
  • Work with key stakeholders in the Content, Artist, & Social team to support in the editing of videos specifics for the various social platforms and live streams
  • Assist in building a roster of freelance video editors, motion graphic artists, and color graders
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the media server
  • Stay in tuned with current trends, software, and editing techniques to elevate our work

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 8 years professional editorial experience
  • Solid understanding of how cameras, lighting, and sound recording works to deliver best final video product
  • Expert- knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop)
  • Advanced knowledge of color grading practices (DaVinci Resolve)
  • Experience with sound design and general audio best practices
  • Experience with modern encoding and delivery practices
  • Strong sense of visual storytelling and editorial style
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Proven ability to manage projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both as a team and independently
  • Excellent communication skills

Pay Rate: $70,230-$85,270/yr depending on background and experience.
