Job Description
Dotdash Meredith is seeking a Producer to join its Lifestyle Video team. As Producer you’ll be responsible for delivering videos designed to inspire and inform audiences across the Dotdash Meredith suite of Lifestyle properties, from Travel + Leisure to InStyle. You will be a creative team player who has a passion for and understanding of the online video space, can develop clever ideas, and possesses the technical skills to efficiently execute a high volume of content across each phase of the production cycle. The ideal Producer understands what makes great social and YouTube video, has a contemporary sense of style and aesthetics, is highly organized, capable researcher, and can comfortably run a set and deliver an edit that brings ideas to life. Proven experience producing video for digital publishers is preferred. Bonus points for experience as an on-camera talent.
Contributions
- Bring fresh story, execution, and edit ideas to the video strategy and a can-do approach to getting those videos out into the world, fast. Fluidly jump between pre-pro, production and post-production while juggling various productions at once.
- Proficient in coordinating and directing on-camera talent remotely to optimize video content quality and engagement, leveraging strong communication skills and technical knowledge in video production and editing tools.
- Make great ideas tangible. Create treatments, scripts and production plans. Lead sets and oversee edits. See production plans through upload, managing all the production steps along the way, including hitting budget and deadline targets.
- Be able to articulate and emulate best practices for social video that drives video views and engagement.
- Bring a vision that captures viewers’ attention and keeps them watching on-site and across social platforms.
- Stay abreast and informed on digital video trends and use your findings to drive better production.
- Collaborate with stakeholders from the earliest conceptual stages to ensure the best creative and production approaches are employed.
- Communicate effectively about how to design a set, shoot and light, and be comfortable picking up a camera.
- Review videos and give detailed feedback on edits. From the opening second to the bumper, ensure videos meet editorial and brand standards.
- Edit videos using a variety of tools: Adobe Premiere, CapCut, TikTok, etc.
- Solve big and small problems before they arise, and take ownership of the creative big picture and the tiny critical details from scouting locations, casting, procuring props through thumbnails.
Requirements
- Knowledge of producing short-form video and experience owning video projects from concept through delivery
- 3+ years experience producing for a digital publisher in the lifestyle space; proven understanding of best practices across social platforms (particularly TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Twitter and Snapchat)
- Proficient in producing edits and editing, with a keen sense of pacing and style that has a social media sensibility; Adobe Creative Suite proficiency
- Working knowledge of digital cinema cameras and lighting techniques; a sharp eye for what looks good on camera
- Experience working with talent; bonus points for on-camera experience
- Highly organized and exceptional attention to detail. You foresee complications, make quick decisions, and troubleshoot on the fly.
- Familiar with creating production budgets and project timelines
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven production environment
- Stellar written and verbal communicator

Pay Range
Salary: $62,400 – $75,000
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
