Position Summary

We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Video Editor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the post-production process, assisting our experienced producers and content creators in creating high-quality videos for a variety of clients, including government agencies and commercial entities. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Video Editing: Collaborating with our senior editors to edit a wide range of video projects, from government training videos to professional commercial shoots. You will be responsible for trimming footage, adding transitions, and incorporating sound effects and music to create engaging and impactful final products.
  • Production Support: Contributing to the overall production process by assisting with tasks such as gathering equipment, setting up shoots, and operating cameras as needed. Your ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment will be essential.

Essential Job Functions

  • Leverage adobe products and DaVinci Resolve to edit various video projects.
  • Assist producers and content creators to bring the projects to life.
  • Perform fundamental editing tasks such as trimming footage, adding transitions, providing content cut and rough cuts, and incorporating sound effects and music.
  • Assist the production team with tasks like equipment setup, camera operation, and general on-set support.
  • Efficiently manage and organize video and audio files, ensuring they are properly labeled and stored.
  • Learn the basics of color correction and grading to enhance the visual quality of videos.
  • Create simple motion graphics and animations using After Effects or other relevant software.
  • Consistently meet project deadlines and maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and new editing techniques to continuously improve skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and clients, clearly communicating ideas and addressing feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Will consider 4+ years work experience in lieu of degree

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience working in a marketing and communication capacity, preferred
  • Applicants must provide a demo reel of their work.

Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, evenings, and some weekends, as needed
  • Ability to travel statewide, required
  • Prior experience with video production, required
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive, detail-driven environment, required
  • Basic knowledge of editing in adobe and DaVinci Resolve, required
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
