Role Description
Are you a brilliant audio engineer and DAW wizard capable of editing and arranging a musical production to picture? Join us at Homes.com as we create top-tier content to support buyers, sellers, and real estate agents at all phases of the home-search process.
As a music editor for Homes.com (a subsidiary of CoStar Group), you’ll be part of a team crafting stories that give home buyers a street-level window into the lifestyle and vibe of neighborhoods throughout the country as they shop for their new homes. And you’re helping agents grow their business by connecting with new clients.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a critical thinker and a creative problem solver. You’ll draw on your previous sound experience in advertising, music production, and marketing content to create engaging and entertaining musical edits and arrangements for all corners of Homes.com. Multiple rounds of changes and feedback are part of the job, so adaptability is a must.
This role will be supported by our growth and innovation at our expanding global campus in Richmond, Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Identify and catalog high-quality music productions (in various musical genres) for short and long-form video projects.
- Highly competent understanding creative briefs to source music tracks and editing with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Edit and arrange musical compositions that support the storytelling in short and long form content.
- Archive audio projects through various audio platforms and DAMs according to department standards.
- Proficiency in music theory, music production, editing, and engineering.
- Ability to mentor junior-level music editors.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting common software and hardware issues.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the CoStar Group’s music team, writers, producers, architectural photographers, and videographers to complete department goals.
Basic Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of audio engineering and production experience, preferably at an agency, brand, or music house.
- Proficient with digital audio workstations, various plug-ins, software instruments, and samplers. (Primarily Avid Pro Tools, Native Instruments, and Universal Audio, but may also include Logic Pro)
- Ear for consistent quality and attention to detail following creative briefs, style guides, and brand guidelines.
- Proficient with MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with mixing audio to industry agreed upon LUFS standards.
- Strong proficiency in working with voice-over production to clean and master audio files including equalizing and compressing.
- Learn to edit musical tracks on brand and within style guidelines.
- Archive audio projects through various audio platforms and DAMs according to department standards.
