Topline:
COURIER seeks a Video Editor to join its national division to support production on its video podcasts and other serialized video content.
Responsibilities include:
- Edit and publish long-form video products for YouTube
- Create compelling social-first video content from COURIER’s longer-form video series and podcasts
- Write platform-specific social media copy to accompany all videos
- Produce and edit additional rapid response, breaking news, or creator social videos as needed.
The ideal candidate will have most of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Digital Media, Film, Audio, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
- Experience creating high-performing video content for news organizations or brands
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram), algorithms, and best practices is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Descript, Canva is required
- Willingness to work irregular hours during select breaking news moments or key political events (i.e. conferences, presidential debates, press events, election nights, speaking engagements)
